The compatible standard ink cartridges include GI-490 PGBK (pigment black), GI-490M for magenta, GI-490Y for yellow, and GI-490C for cyan. These cartridge models deliver different amounts for black and color modes. For instance, they can produce 6000 pages of black documents and 7000 pages of color documents.
The compatible standard media types include plain paper, high-resolution, photo paper, plus glossy II. Others are photo paper pro luster, photo paper plus semi-gloss, glossy photo paper “everyday use,” envelopes, and matte photo paper—the maximum paper input capacity of up to 100 sheets of plain paper through the rear tray. The options include A4, A5, B5, DL envelopes, COM10 envelopes, letters, and legal in terms of the standard paper sizes.
Concerning the paperweight, plain paper requires 64 to 105 gsm while Canon photo paper permits up to 275 gsm. The standard interface option is a hi-speed USB 2.0 B port. [Installation Instructions] How to Download / Installation procedure
Note: Do not connect the USB cable until requested by the installer. If you connect to the network, make sure the network cable is connected before running the installer
Windows
- Close all software programs running on your computer.
- Turn on the printer.
- Click the Download button on this page.
- Click the downloaded file. The files will be extracted and the installation process will automatically begin.

Mac
- Download the file. For the location where the file is saved, check the computer settings.
- Double-click the downloaded file and mount it on the Disk Image.
