The HP Deskjet 1511 supports the draft mode resolution 300×300 dots per inch, standard mode resolution 600×300 dpi, plain best mode resolution and photo best mode resolution up to 600×600 dpi, and maximum dpi mode resolution is 4800×1200 optimized dpi. The print method used drops on demand thermal inkjet method. The device uses PCL3 GUI language.
The two-mode provided are black draft and ISO mode. The printing speed in black draft mode is up to 20 ppm, and 7 ppm for ISO mode. For color, the printing speed of black draft mode is 16 ppm, and of ISO is up to 4 ppm. Even though, the speed may vary depending upon the complexity of the document.
The copy process consists of two modes, black, and color. The copy speed of black mode is up to 4.5 cpm, and of color is up to 3.0 cpm. It also facilitates digital image processing.

Note: Do not connect the USB cable until requested by the installer. If you connect to the network, make sure the network cable is connected before running the installer
Windows
- Close all software programs running on your computer.
- Turn on the printer.
- Click the Download button on this page.
- Click the downloaded file. The files will be extracted and the installation process will automatically begin.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to continue and complete the installation.
Mac
- Download the file. For the location where the file is saved, check the computer settings.
- Double-click the downloaded file and mount it on the Disk Image.
- Then Double-click the mounted Disk Image.
- Double-click the packaged file in the folder. Installation starts automatically.
To install later, select Save in step 4 and choose a location on your hard disk. When ready to install, search and double-click the file. This will automatically extract and start the installation process. Follow the instructions on the screen to continue the installation.
