The printer is compatible with various operating systems, ranging from Microsoft to Macintosh. Within the Windows operating system, the users should have Windows XP and its higher versions. Other Windows operating system the Windows Vista, 7, 8 and 10 can support the printer. All the windows operating systems require 400 MB of a free disk of space. Among the Macintosh operating system the Mac OS X 10.8, 10.9, and 10.10 are fully compatible with the printer. The latest operating system of Macintosh Mac OS X 10.14 is also compatible with the printer. The Mac OS. need more than 1 GB of free disk space to install the firmware.
The printer is automatic which saves time, and the first page comes out in less than 6 seconds. The printing speed for plain monochrome paper is 43 pages per minute. Added to it the printing technology that enhances the printing resolution is HP ProRes 1200 and the HP FastRes 1200.
It can support various types of media including plain A4 sheets, envelopes, labels, bond paper, recycled paper, and card stock. The input and output tray capacity also vary. The first input tray has the size of 100 sheet space and the second tray’s capacity is 550 sheets.
Along with the wireless printing, it also has a USB port that can print pages without it connecting to the computer. Moreover, the inbuilt 512 memory can hold a plethora of documents in the queue allowing the user time to perform other tasks.

Note: Do not connect the USB cable until requested by the installer. If you connect to the network, make sure the network cable is connected before running the installer
Windows
- Close all software programs running on your computer.
- Turn on the printer.
- Click the Download button on this page.
- Click the downloaded file. The files will be extracted and the installation process will automatically begin.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to continue and complete the installation.
Mac
- Download the file. For the location where the file is saved, check the computer settings.
- Double-click the downloaded file and mount it on the Disk Image.
- Then Double-click the mounted Disk Image.
- Double-click the packaged file in the folder. Installation starts automatically.
To install later, select Save in step 4 and choose a location on your hard disk. When ready to install, search and double-click the file. This will automatically extract and start the installation process. Follow the instructions on the screen to continue the installation.
