Apart from the Windows OS versions, the machine is also compatible with the Mac OS X v10.6.8 and 10.9. The printer model is compatible with iOS, Android, and Windows RT versions concerning the mobile operating systems; it can also allow connectivity through the Wireless LAN with IEEE 802.11b/g/n, a hi-speed USB 2.0 port, and a PictBridge port. The machine’s physical dimensions also include a width of 16.8 inches and a depth of 12.1 inches.
This machine can print black and white documents at a rate of 8.0 images per minute (ipm). On the other hand, color printing has a print rate of 4.0 ipm under ideal conditions. the internal print system comprises 1280 nozzles, which includes 320 nozzles for pigment black printing. However, color printing requires up to 960 nozzles. The machine allows 2 and 5 picolitres at normal levels in terms of the minimum ink droplet size.
The print resolution from the machine while printing black white documents is about 600 x 600 dots per inch (dpi). However, color printing with this device produces a quality resolution of up to 4800 x 600 dpi. The compatible ink cartridge types also include the PG-245 for pigment black, CL-246 for color ink, and the XL variables for higher print yield. It can also use the GP-601 combo pack cartridge model. Note: Do not connect the USB cable until requested by the installer. If you connect to the network, make sure the network cable is connected before running the installer
Windows
- Close all software programs running on your computer.
- Turn on the printer.
- Click the Download button on this page.
- Click the downloaded file. The files will be extracted and the installation process will automatically begin.

Mac
- Download the file. For the location where the file is saved, check the computer settings.
- Double-click the downloaded file and mount it on the Disk Image.

- Double-click the packaged file in the folder. Installation starts automatically.
To install later, select Save in step 4 and choose a location on your hard disk. When ready to install, search and double-click the file. This will automatically extract and start the installation process. Follow the instructions on the screen to continue the installation.
