The HP Officejet J6413 driver compatible Windows operating system versions include Windows 2000 (Service pack 4), Windows XP (32-bit and 64-bit). Others include Windows Vista. For Windows 2000 and Windows XP (32-bit), the minimum processor requirement is an Intel Pentium II or Celeron. Whereas, the manufacturer recommends an Intel Pentium III or higher processor.
However, Windows XP (64-bit) requires an AMD Opteron, Intel Xeon processor with Intel EM64T support. Also, this version of Windows OS can work well with Intel Pentium 4 processor with Intel EM64T support. Microsoft Windows Vista requires a minimum of 800 MHz processor (32-bit and 64-bit alike).
The HP Officejet J6413 driver supported versions of Mac systems include Mac OS X 10.3.9 and higher with Mac OS 10.4.x and higher. The minimum processor for Mac OS X v10.3.9 and more top is a 400 MHz Power PC G3. Whereas, the recommended processor for OS X v10.4.6 and higher is 1.83 GHz Intel core duo. The minimum memory space should be 256 MB of RAM for all compatible versions. More so, before installing the printer driver, ensure you have a minimum hard disk space of 800 MB. Other side requirements include an Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0 or later versions.
Connectivity
The all-in-one printer has the primary connectivity of a USB 2.0-compliant high-speed port with Wireless 802.11b/g. Also, the printer has a Wired Ethernet network that enables connection with other devices.
Print Speed and Resolution
The black print speed is 31 pages per minute (ppm) while for colored, it is 25 ppm. The printer resolution stands at up to 1200 dpi with pigmented black ink. The color print quality, however, has an enhanced photo quality with Vivera inks that can be up to 4800 x 1200 dpi optimized. This resolution is possible on an HP Premium Plus photo papers with 1200 x 1200 dpi input.
Paper Handling
The printer supports a wide variety of papers including the Plain paper, Transparencies, Photo paper, Labels, Envelopes, Cards, etc. The printer’s input tray has a capacity of up to 250 sheets of plain paper while it holds less for other media types.
Limitations
1. The printer has no duplex printing which would have allowed it to print on both pages of the paper automatically.
2. The user cannot also find any USB cable in the package. The printer, however, supports a Hi-speed USB 2.0 compliant cable.

Windows
- Close all software programs running on your computer.
- Turn on the printer.
- Click the Download button on this page.
- Click the downloaded file. The files will be extracted and the installation process will automatically begin.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to continue and complete the installation.
Mac
- Download the file. For the location where the file is saved, check the computer settings.
- Double-click the downloaded file and mount it on the Disk Image.
- Then Double-click the mounted Disk Image.
- Double-click the packaged file in the folder. Installation starts automatically.
To install later, select Save in step 4 and choose a location on your hard disk. When ready to install, search and double-click the file. This will automatically extract and start the installation process. Follow the instructions on the screen to continue the installation.
