The HP Officejet K7103 is a member of the K7100 series which also include HP Officejet K7100 and HP Officejet K7108 printers. Their respective part numbers are CB041C, CB041A, and CB041D respectively.

Their required processors vary though by the particular version group it belongs. For example, for Windows 2000 and XP, the least processor is an Intel Pentium II with 233 MHz or higher. The manufacturer, however, recommends an Intel Pentium 4 or higher. For Windows Vista and Windows 7, the minimum processor that can work smoothly is 800 MHz (32-bit and 64-bit). However, the manufacturer recommends a 1 GHz processor or higher for such versions of operating system.
Windows 2000 and Windows XP also requires a 128 MB of Ram while the recommended size is 256 MB of RAM. Windows Vista and Windows 7, on the other hand, enjoys a 512 MB RAM or 1 GB or higher (recommended).
Before running the installation on your system, ensure you have a minimum free hard disk space of 795 MB. This feature applies to systems running on Windows 2000 and Windows XP. However, systems with Windows Vista and Windows 7 requires 850 MB of free hard disk space.

These operating systems require different parameters for smooth running. For instance, Mac OS v10.3.8 and higher versions need a 400 MHz Power PC G3 processor. But for Mac OS v10.4.6 and higher versions, a 1.83 GHz Intel Core Duo processor is useful. However, HP recommends that a 400 MHZ Power PC G4 processor should be available for 10.3.8 and higher. On the other hand, for Mac OS 10.4.6 and higher, HP recommends the same 1.83 GHz.
The internal memory for all versions of Macintosh systems is 256 MB, and free disk space is at least 200 MB. HP, however, recommends 500 MB free hard disk space.

The versions of Windows and Macintosh support Internet Explorer 6.0 or later versions. Installing these operating systems also require that there be a working CD/DVD ROM.
Environmental Specifications
The operating temperature of this printer is between 50 to 400 C. However; HP recommends that the working condition of 150 to 300. When the printer is in store, the recommended temperature should be between -400 to 600. The relative humidity should be 20 to 80% non-condensing RH.

The printer uses a maximum power of 60 watts when in full operation. The power supply is through a built-in Universal Power Supply (UPS). Note: Do not connect the USB cable until requested by the installer. If you connect to the network, make sure the network cable is connected before running the installer
Windows
- Close all software programs running on your computer.
- Turn on the printer.
- Click the Download button on this page.
- Click the downloaded file. The files will be extracted and the installation process will automatically begin.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to continue and complete the installation.
Mac
- Download the file. For the location where the file is saved, check the computer settings.
- Double-click the downloaded file and mount it on the Disk Image.
- Then Double-click the mounted Disk Image.
- Double-click the packaged file in the folder. Installation starts automatically.
To install later, select Save in step 4 and choose a location on your hard disk. When ready to install, search and double-click the file. This will automatically extract and start the installation process. Follow the instructions on the screen to continue the installation.
